GM, Toyota, Fiat Chrysler back Trump on California emissions challenge

Reuters | October 29, 2019

Major automakers are siding with the Trump administration in its bid to bar California from setting its own fuel efficiency rules or zero-emission requirements for vehicles, the companies said in a filing with a U.S. appeals court late on Monday. The move by firms including General Motors Co (GM.N), Toyota Motor Corp (7203.T), Hyundai Motor Co (005380.KS), and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (FCHA.MI), follows legal challenges by California and 22 states and environmental groups in September. Those challenges aim to undo the Trump administration’s determination, issued in September, that federal law bars California from setting stiff tailpipe emission standards and zero-emission vehicle mandates.

Radiance Technologies Switches to Unanet for GovCon ERP and CRM

Unanet | September 30, 2022

Unanet, the leading provider of project-based ERP and CRM for government contractors (GovCon), today announced that Radiance Technologies, a Huntsville, Ala.-based firm that develops solutions for defense, intelligence and civilian clients like the U.S. Army and U.S. Airforce, is replacing its legacy ERP system with Unanet GovCon ERP and CRM to provide a robust end-to-end solution that will help streamline processes and reduce manual errors in their business. Radiance has already started an implementation plan that Unanet tailored to fit their needs. After an annual review of all its business and technology tools, Radiance, an employee-owned company with approximately 1,000 employees, determined that its legacy ERP provider was actually making their business processes more cumbersome and less efficient for their team. "Our previous system included multiple software tools, but none of them were fully integrated and automated. As a result, we were spending a lot of time taking data out of one system through downloads, and entering or importing it into another system, Radiance's teams also experienced difficulties with functionality and technical issues such as upgrades that were hastily rolled out with errors in them.We fully expect Unanet to make our processes more efficient through integration and automation, reduce the amount of time required to enter and review data and create smoother internal processes and workflows, For example, getting consultants and subcontractors to input their purchase order/invoice data into an efficient system will ensure all costs incurred each month are captured in our invoices. This will enhance our speed and visibility to project actuals -- creating one efficient solution for our subcontractors/consultants and our accounting team." -Paige Nix, chief financial officer at Radiance. After a search and review process for an enterprise-wide system, Radiance chose Unanet GovCon ERP and CRM for its ability to fully integrate and automate multiple tools with low implementation and maintenance time. In addition, Radiance received multiple referrals about Unanet from companies who shared how Unanet's customer service team listened and turned feedback into actionable results. According to a recent annual survey of more than 1,100 GovCon customers, Unanet users are seeing a significant decrease in day sales outstanding (DSO) simply because of the reduction in errors that Unanet's ERP solution provides. More than 14% of users reported a DSO of 15 days or less. About Unanet: Unanet is a leading provider of project-based ERP and CRM solutions purpose-built for Government Contractors, architecture, engineering, construction, and professional services. More than 3,700 project-driven organizations depend on Unanet to turn their information into actionable insights, drive better decision-making, and accelerate business growth. SAWTST LLC Selects Deltek To Power Its Project Success and Long Term Growth Strategy

SAWTST | November 17, 2022

Deltek, the leading global provider of software and solutions for project-based businesses, announced today that SAWTST, a small business government contracting firm, has selected Deltek Costpoint and Deltek Talent Management to power its growth by streamlining and automating processes and efficiencies, while staying compliant with the federal government. SAWTST, a government contracting firm located in Tyrone, Georgia, is a department of Veterans Affairs (VA) verified service-disabled veteran owned small business (SDVOSB). The firm's legacy is built on service with its executive and senior management team, composed primarily of military veterans. The company employs professionals that are a mix of veterans from all services and experienced industry professionals that have consistently delivered exceptional results in the Defense environment. SAWTST knew it was time to upgrade its ERP system to streamline and automate processes and reporting, as well as to scale for its long-term growth plans. The system it was using was too manual and time-consuming – employees were burdened with siloed processes. SAWTST needed a single solution that could support functional areas including contracts management and procurement. They were looking for a new ERP partner that would deliver more innovation and greater intelligence through an all-in-one system across the entire project lifecycle. In addition, SAWTST wanted better, out-of-the-box reporting, designed for government contractors. By switching to Deltek, SAWTST anticipates Costpoint will be its one-stop-shop for mission-critical data and save them a full-time staff member due to Costpoint's automation. Deltek Costpoint is the government contracting industry's leading solution that delivers more innovation and greater intelligence at every stage of the project lifecycle. It centralizes the management of projects, people and finances, and scales seamlessly as needs grow, enabling small to enterprise size businesses to win new clients, manage project profitability and improve client satisfaction at every stage. Additionally, the integrated cloud offering enables the secure storage of data and is consistently enhanced to meet the most up-to-date governmental and agency cybersecurity compliance standards including NIST 800-171. "Being a CFO and part of a finance team at a government contractor requires special skills and understanding of the unique government requirements for finance and accounting, How we handle our project information – and our accounting, finances, and reporting – requires the right partnerships with those that know how the government thinks. We need software that makes it easy for us to be efficient and connects the entire company to our project data for a single source of the truth. And we have found that with Deltek. After demoing the software and doing our research, it's clear that Deltek is miles ahead of the competition and the gold standard for government contractors. It's a big decision to move your ERP, especially after just 3 years with another provider. It's a lot of work and I've felt like Deltek has been by my side the entire time. We know it will be well worth our time and money in the end, We are excited to be in person at Deltek ProjectCon 2022 with Deltek experts and other government contractors who have been in our shoes before. We are building great relationships and getting a jump start on our solution training." -Debra Hadley, Chief Financial Officer at SAWTST.
