Forward Networks | May 18, 2021
Forward Networks, the industry leader in network assurance and intent-based verification, reported today that it has been named a manufacturer on the U.S. Army Computer Hardware Enterprise Software and Solutions contract (ITES-SW2) (CHESS). Carahsoft Technology Corp., The Trusted Government IT Solutions Provider®, holds this contract, which is valid until August 30, 2025.
The ITES-SW2 contract vehicle is a firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract vehicle for commercial off-the-shelf software devices, as well as associated services and hardware. There are no costs associated with the deal, and ordering is available to all Army, DoD, and Federal departments, as well as approved systems integrators, on a global scale. Under this contract, Carahsoft provides Forward Networks of software, software maintenance, and ancillary services to support the enterprise software needs of federal agencies.
By providing an always accurate digital twin of the network, the Forward Networks platform assists Army, DoD, and Federal Government customers in making their networks more predictable, agile, and safe. The Forward Networks platform is based on a mathematical model that can map any possible traffic route in the network, provide a complete device index with configuration and state details, and predict how improvements will affect the network before they are pushed live, based on years of Ph.D. and business research. Customers who use the platform report saving hundreds of hours per week on troubleshooting, reducing network outages significantly, and saving millions of dollars every year.
The Forward Networks platform provides comprehensive visibility, that security teams appreciate. The verification feature includes an ongoing audit to ensure that the network is following security policies. When an incident occurs, the platform's diff application enables security analysts to determine when the network was compromised, what change caused the incident, and locate all affected hosts. The Forward Networks platform is available as an on-premises solution or as a SaaS solution.
About Forward Networks
Forward Networks is transforming how large networks are managed. Forward's advanced software creates a network's "digital twin," enabling network operators to verify intent, predict network activity, and simplify network management. Both major networking vendors' devices, as well as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform are supported by the platform.
Forward Networks, headquartered in Santa Clara, California, was founded in 2013 by four Stanford Ph.D. graduates. Goldman Sachs, Andreessen Horowitz, Threshold Ventures, and A. Capital is among the investors.

Dataiku was developed for skill-agnostic users who can interact with the software via high-code, low-code, or no-code interfaces. The general purpose platform for data science allows members of a data team to work together across all stages of any data project, including data access, data exploration, data preparation, model development, model deployment, and model monitoring.
Cindy Walker, Vice President of Octo’s Data Science Center of Excellence said, “It’s all about improving outcomes, and to do that, we need to collaborate with our teams and our customers. Partnering with Dataiku allows us to even better deliver innovations and proven approaches to managing and using data and information to enhance the mission.”
Rob Albritton, Senior Director of Octo’s AI Center of Excellence said, “In a field that is historically siloed, Dataiku democratizes data science across teams and various user personas while maintaining security. This is especially important as we work toward making tactical data accessible to soldiers, first responders, and teams in other sectors that depend on the ability of our data scientists to collaborate and find viable solutions.”
Octo CEO Mehul Sanghani stated, “Octo’s culture of collaboration promotes partnerships like we have established with Dataiku. We are exceedingly pleased to be able to offer our customers alternatives in data science solutions to address their unique, complex challenges.”
