NTT DATA Launches Smart Back to Work Application to Support Government and Business COVID-19 Requirements

NTT DATA, a digital business and IT services leader, today announced the launch of a Smart Back to Work Application designed to help government organizations and private employers comply with vaccine mandates. The Biden Administration recently announced multiple initiatives to strengthen safety protocols across the federal government and private sector, including issuing two executive orders requiring vaccinations for federal employees and many federal contractors.

Additionally, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration is developing a rule that will require private sector employers with 100 or more employees to ensure their workforce is fully vaccinated or require any workers who remain unvaccinated to produce a negative test result on at least a weekly basis before coming to work. With approximately 9.1 million federal government workers, complying with this recent executive order will require advanced data, analytics and the ability to seamlessly enable workers and employers to implement safety protocols required by these mandates.

NTT DATA’s Smart Back to Work Application is easily accessible from a mobile phone, tablet or computer. Within a few minutes, employees can upload proof of vaccination, attest to their vaccination status, or upload COVID-19 test results—effortlessly and quickly.

Through a convenient dashboard, administrators can assess compliance securely and expeditiously. The application has been used effectively to help test for and manage COVID-19 exposure at colleges and universities. The expanded version of the application builds on successful implementations and allows flexibility for future changes based on developments in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Colorado State University at Pueblo was recently awarded the 2021 Excellence and Innovation Award for Campus Pandemic Response from the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, leveraging NTT DATA’s COVID-19 application as a key component of their effort. The application allows users to conduct daily self-assessment and health monitoring for students and employees as well as advanced reporting of a robust on-campus testing program administered by Spartan Medical.

The secure Smart Back to Work application uses a tool from AWS Premier Consulting Partner, Cloudticity to manage real-time compliance with the technical requirements of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) SP 800-53, NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) and HITRUST Common Security Framework (CSF) and HIPAA/HITECH Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs). The application is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and available in AWS GovCloud for public sector clients.

U.K. Firms Adapting Security Strategies for Cloud, Resilience

Enterprise security leaders in the U.K. are focused on cloud security, building up resilience against threats and aligning cybersecurity strategies with overall business goals, according to a new research report published today by Information Services Group (ISG) (Nasdaq: III), a leading global technology research and advisory firm. The 2022 ISG Provider Lens™ Cybersecurity — Solutions and Services report for the U.K. finds these objectives are the top priorities for chief information security officers (CISOs) in U.K. organizations. The growing use of cloud models such as infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) is forcing companies to adapt their cybersecurity approaches, with a focus on holistic resilience that requires more communication and training for employees and outside stakeholders, the report says. “British enterprises are aligning cybersecurity with IT trends and the changing threat landscape, Cloud migration has many benefits but can create new security challenges. SES Completes $450 Million Acquisition of DRS Global Enterprise Solutions Doubling US Government Business

SES and its wholly-owned subsidiary SES Government Solutions (SES GS) today announced the completion of the acquisition of DRS Global Enterprise Solutions (GES) from Leonardo DRS for $450 million after obtaining all the necessary regulatory approvals. The DRS GES business will be combined with SES GS to create a scaled solutions provider serving the multi-orbit satellite communications needs of the US Government and supporting missions anywhere on land, at sea, or in the air. With the combined businesses operating as SES Government Solutions, the new organization will comprise a cross-functional workforce with deep technical expertise and a proven ability to integrate and manage multi-orbit geostationary and medium earth orbit (MEO) services as well as multi-operator network solutions. In particular, SES GS will offer highly flexible second-generation MEO services – via SES’s soon-to-be launched O3b mPOWER system – with a unique combination of low latency and high throughput per terminal for high-value missions, to an expanded government customer base. SES GS will also leverage essential tools and expertise in cybersecurity operations, customer support, governance and compliance. The combined business will continue to serve US Government customers under the direction of the SES GS Proxy Board of Directors. The consolidation of DRS GES with SES GS is expected to unlock $25 million of annualized run-rate synergies, with government becoming SES’s largest data business segment in terms of revenue.
