Top UK GPs urge government to rule out no-deal Brexit

RCGP chair Professor Helen Stokes-Lampard, National Association of Primary Care (NAPC) chair Dr Nav Chana and former BMA chair Professor Sir Sam Everington were among prominent GPs who signed a joint letter asking the government to rule out the possibility of a no-deal Brexit. ‘We are increasingly alarmed at the risks associated with a "no deal" Brexit,’ the letter reads. ‘As the government’s contingency planning demonstrates, a no deal Brexit poses grave risks to public health and patient safety, and would require extraordinary measures in mitigation.
