This week we will continue our investigation of the U.S. legal system. We will discuss our legal rights & responsibilities, as well as the history of how our laws developed. We will discuss the similarities & differences between civil & criminal law, as well as the steps of the trial process. We have about 3 weeks left in the semester, but still much to do. The City of Waco establishes and administers law through a council-manager form of government. Citizens are represented on the city council by six elected members; five from single-member districts and a mayor who is elected at-large. Waco offers thirteen major attractions, five historic homes, seven recreational venues, and nine arts organizations staging theatrical and musical productions, as well as art exhibitions. The 'Visitor Information' section of the Waco Convention Center's website has some great information.
