J. Ryann Peyton selected to lead Colorado Attorney Mentoring Program

DENVER – The Colorado Supreme Court announced today that it has approved the selection of J. Ryann Peyton as the new director of the Colorado Attorney Mentoring Program (CAMP), effective July 1, 2016. Ms. Peyton will replace John Baker, who became the program’s first director in February 2013. She will begin her work with CAMP on April 1, working with Mr. Baker until his departure on June 30. Ms. Peyton worked in private practice as a domestic relations attorney until 2015, when she transitioned her practice to nonprofit civil-rights law, where she managed a legal department supported by law-student interns. She also has served as an adjunct professor in the University of Denver’s Legal Externship Program, where she supervised law students during their semester-long externships in the legal community. A graduate of the University of St. Thomas School of Law, Ms. Peyton also has served on the board of the Center for Legal Inclusiveness and as legal director of the LGBT Community Center of Colorado.
