As a result, climate impacts are most often experienced as water crises – floods, storms, droughts, etc. There is a tremendous need for collective government action to solve our shared water challenges. For governments to make equitable and smart decisions addressing the water crisis, they need access to clear, actionable water data – the best decisions are made using the best data.

Phishing attacks are rising dramatically, particularly those aimed at state and local governments, with recent reports suggesting incidents have nearly doubled. Attacks have targeted a wide swath of the workforce—from revenue and tax officials to employees in elections and unemployment offices.

Most Australians inside and outside of government don’t know about open government. They don’t understand what ‘open’ means. And importantly, why it’s a good thing, how they can get involved or what to do. Making Open is a channel dedicated to helping promote open government. While their capability to address these issues is nothing new, recent policy changes in agencies like the Department of Defense designed to combat emissions, curb rising energy costs, and develop the next generation of climate technologies have signaled new priorities for those working to secure our nation. As the world continues to press for a net-zero future, it’s essential that those working to meet expectations do their best to deliver a pathway to this ambitious and important goal.
