Information Technologies that support health care missions and capabilities have never been more critical, as local, state and federal health organizations continue to battle a shifting worldwide pandemic.
The ability to share health information across platforms and among healthcare providers is a crucial part of health care organizations’ missions. Data has become the lifeblood of health care, from tracking cases, to vaccine and treatment distribution, as well as initiatives to distribute test kits and personal protection gear across the U.S.
IT also supports more effective everyday health care applications including user-centered design that allows more efficient interaction with doctors, getting appointments for treatments or vaccines and arranging telehealth appointments for standard healthcare.
Even with the advances of health care dashboards, interactivity and data sharing, cybersecurity risks have accelerated, as attack surfaces have expanded endpoints with remote and work-from-home workforces. Hackers, particularly ransomware criminals, have continued to focus their attacks on the health care industry, finding they can reap rewards from healthcare organizations that can’t afford to lose their networks and data. Emerging technology, such as AI and machine learning, are helping cut through the enormous amount of data and provide information needed to improve protection and identify attack sources.
Join us for this workshop to explore the ways IT, emerging tech and data analytics are working to improve the government response to COVID-19 and other health challenges.
