The Local Government Climate Action Conference 2023

The Local Government Climate Action Conference 2023
Local authorities provide a range of services that impact on net zero, such as transport and infrastructure, waste management and social housing. Consequently, they will play a critical role in working toward national climate change targets. A report by the National Audit Office in 2020 covered the wide range of unprecedented changes local authorities must make to embed sustainability into their processes and products. Currently, 340 councils have declared a climate emergency according to data by CAPE; through sharing best practice green innovation and climate action plans, local authorities can work together to achieve net zero targets and improve green outcomes for businesses and the community.
