Carrollton Opens Utility Payment Kiosk

The City of Carrollton’s ongoing efforts to provide residents with convenience and accessibility has now been extended to onsite utility payments through the installation of an electronic payment kiosk at City Hall. The kiosk is now live 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Customers can look up their water utility account and make a payment by cash, check, or credit card (a 3% convenience fee applies to credit cards). The customer will then receive a receipt showing payment was made, a benefit previously unavailable to night box payments. “This is a significant upgrade to the night boxes which require staff to retrieve each business day and manually process each morning. The kiosk not only will be a time and resource saver for the department, but also a much needed customer service improvement for citizens,” Utility Customer Services Manager Christopher Redding said. “Additionally, with the old system, customers were only permitted to pay by check or money order and had no interaction capabilities with their water account. The kiosk gives a more modern, easy approach to making payments.”
