Cecil County Schools Receive National School Health Award

Cecil County Public Schools gained national attention this month as 16 of its elementary schools achieved distinction in the HealthierUS School Challenge: Smarter Lunchroom (HUSSC:SL) by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). All Cecil schools received the Bronze level award. Sponsored by USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), HUSSC:SL is a voluntary national certification initiative, recognizing Team Nutrition schools that have created healthier environments through the promotion of nutrition and physical activity.
