Cyble Launches Defense Threat Intelligence Solution for Law Enforcement and Government Agencies

Cyble, an AI-powered, Y Combinator-backed, cyber threat intelligence company that empowers organizations with darkweb & cybercrime monitoring, today announced the availability of its Law Enforcement Agency (LEA) and defense threat intelligence solution. This is aimed at specifically helping law enforcement and government agencies gather, analyze, and respond to the exposure of extremely sensitive information, enriched with Cyble’s SIGINT analysis and research, that may have implications for national security or geopolitical ramifications. In this regard, Cyble has been working with several law enforcement agencies across the world.

Over the past few years, organized cybercriminals and state-backed threat actors have been actively targeting critical national infrastructure. Recent examples of this include the ransomware attack on the Colonial Pipeline in the US, which threatened to knock out fuel supply to half of the country.

Countries worldwide have seen their governments and military networks being hacked and troves of sensitive data exfiltrated by state-backed and financially motivated adversaries. The threat here is two-fold. Threat Actors primarily target organizations designated as Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) such as power plants, nuclear installations, oil pipelines and refineries, telecom network providers, and transport networks.

Additionally, threat actors are also targeting the supply chain eco-system of these organizations, which typically comprise technology OEMs, contract manufacturers, strategic R&D partners, and IT service providers. These attacks are carried out with an explicit intent of espionage, sabotage, as well as intellectual property theft.

Volta Collaboration Awarded ARPA-E Funding to Commercialize Next Generation Fast Charging Technology Aligned With Bipartisan Infrastructure Law

Volta Inc. (NYSE: VLTA) (“Volta”), an industry-leading electric vehicle (EV) charging and media company, today announced that a project application it collaborated on with Imagen Energy, LLC (“Imagen”), a developer of compact high-power EV chargers, was awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E). The project seeks to develop and commercialize the next generation of domestically manufactured DC Fast Charging (DCFC) technology in support of the federal government’s clean energy and climate priorities. The grant is part of the ARPA-E Seeding Critical Advances for Leading Energy technologies with Untapped Potential (SCALEUP) program, which provides further funding to previous ARPA-E teams that have been determined to be feasible for widespread deployment and commercialization domestically. SCALEUP selectees demonstrate a viable path to commercial deployment and the ability to attract private sector investments. Through this project, Imagen and Volta seek to develop and commercialize chargers that are more flexible, more powerful, and more affordable by focusing on: Scalable Chargers: The project will utilize Imagen’s flexible, high-efficiency silicon carbide-based (SiC) power conversion platform to produce compact charging cabinets that enable affordable, easier-to-install, and highly reliable high-power fast chargers capable of charging multiple EVs simultaneously and being deployed in a market quickly. The flexible platform is expected to facilitate optional, convenient integration with energy storage and renewable energy, and supports vehicle-to-grid integration. BIL-compliance: Equipment is being engineered to deliver at least 150kW and be manufactured in the United States to comply with the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s (BIL) requirements. The technology will also fulfill network connectivity requirements, including Plug and Charge capabilities and communication through the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) and Open Charge Point Interface protocol (OCPI), building upon Volta’s existing software implementation to allow flexible integration with roaming charging partners. Visibility & Access: Volta will leverage its patented, award-winning PredictEV infrastructure planning software to identify optimal sites for effective piloting and initial deployment based on local EV ownership, mobility trends, demographics, and income levels. NanoGraf Wins Contract from U.S. Government to Develop First Large-Volume Advanced Silicon Anode Manufacturing Facility in the U.S.

The contract will fund the onshore manufacturing of high-performance silicon anode materials as the first large-volume silicon oxide manufacturing facility in the U.S. At peak production, NanoGraf will produce 35 T/Y, enough material to provide enhanced power for various battery applications. The U.S. faces unprecedented battery market demand and a highly problematic supply chain, resulting in an increased need for the onshoring of battery manufacturing facilities. In awarding NanoGraf this production contract, the U.S. Government is taking an important step towards a strong supply chain by scaling material production of the world’s most energy dense 3.8Ah 18650 cylindrical lithium-ion cell, at 800 watt-hours per liter (Wh/L), which was announced in 2021. “NanoGraf’s twin mission is to continually improve battery performance and to be a great partner for our customers across sectors, including government, automotive, and consumer electronics, This contract ensures continued improvements in battery performance and a more reliable supply chain as we bring our silicon-anode technology to scale.” -Connor Hund, Chief Operating Officer.
