Government Executive | August 29, 2018
Labor Secretary Alex Acosta on Tuesday announced the opening of a new office aimed at complementing labor law enforcement with outreach to help employers and workers comply with regulations. Speaking at a Nashville safety symposium run by the nonprofit Voluntary Protection Programs Participants' Association, Acosta unveiled two new department websites related to the effort, employer.gov and worker.gov. The new education effort, which will be coordinated by the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Policy, will work with enforcement authorities to “refine their metrics to ensure the efficacy of the department’s compliance assistance activities.”
