Littleton Police Investigating Serious Accident

Officers from the Littleton and Englewood Police Departments responded to S. Santa Fe Dr and W. Chenango Ave on a traffic accident at about 2:18 this morning. Upon arrival, it was determined that the accident was a single vehicle crash. The investigation revealed the car, a 1996 Chevy Corvette, was southbound on the Santa Fe when the driver lost control and collided with a light pole. The driver fled the scene on foot but was taken into custody a short distance away. He was hospitalized with minor injuries. The passenger is currently in the hospital in critical condition. Police are still working on identification of the two men. The investigation continues in order to determine if alcohol or drugs were a contributing factor in the accident.
