One Election Is Over: NAM Announces New Board Leadership

Washington, D.C., October 4, 2016 – The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) announced today that David Farr, chairman and CEO of Emerson, and David Seaton, chairman and CEO of Fluor Corporation, have been elected chair and vice chair of the NAM’s Board of Directors leadership, respectively. They will take office for a two-year term on January 1, 2017. Both leaders come from companies at the forefront of the manufacturing sector and have sterling reputations among their peers as executives and as manufacturing advocates. They are tireless champions for manufacturing priorities in Washington, D.C., and are positioned to further bolster the trade association’s already strong advocacy efforts. Farr has played an integral role in the NAM’s trade issue advocacy efforts as board vice chair for international economic policy. During his tenure, Farr helped shape the NAM’s legislative victories, including passage of Trade Promotion Authority, Miscellaneous Tariff Bill legislation and reauthorization of the U.S. Export-Import Bank. As chair of the NAM Board of Directors, Farr can share this knowledge and influence across all key policy priorities for manufacturers.
