Rancher Government Solutions Announces No-Code Deployment of Rancher on AWS GovCloud

Rancher Government Solutions (RGS), the leader in open source, cloud-native Kubernetes management, announced today the launch of Rancher Manager-RKE2-Test Flight on AWS Marketplace, to help government customers accelerate their Kubernetes journey in the cloud.

Test Flight is a no-code deployment of Rancher Kubernetes on AWS GovCloud. It is a fully-hands-on trial of RKE2 and Rancher Manager specifically designed for US Government customers to help break down the barriers to entry for teams adopting containers and Kubernetes in the cloud. A supported version of Rancher Manager and RKE2 Test Flight on AWS is expected in Q3 of this year.

Kubernetes has revolutionized the world of infrastructure and application distribution. From bare-metal servers to virtual machines to containers, Kubernetes has caused government teams to re-evaluate their entire technology stack.

The Rancher Manager simplifies Kubernetes and lets government IT teams streamline cluster deployment on bare metal, private clouds, public clouds, vSphere and at the edge while securing them using global security policies. It addresses the operational and security challenges of managing multiple Kubernetes clusters across any infrastructure, while providing DevSecOps teams with integrated tools for running containerized workloads.

RKE2 is an easy-to-install, secure-by-default Kubernetes distribution specifically engineered to adhere to the robust compliance requirements of U.S. Government. RKE2 is Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) enabled and SELinux supported and is currently being used across the DoD, Intelligence Community and Civilian Agencies.

Both RKE2 and the Rancher Manager by RGS are the only Kubernetes distribution and manager with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) validated and published by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).

AWS GovCloud (US) gives government customers and their partners the flexibility to architect secure cloud solutions that comply with the highest security standards of the US Government. From Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), Personally Identifiable Information (PII), sensitive patient medical records, and financial data to law enforcement data, export controlled data and other forms of CUI, AWS GovCloud (US) Regions can help customers address compliance at every stage of their cloud journey.

"We are delighted to bring Rancher Manager-RKE2 Test Flight to Amazon Web Services, providing AWS customers with a cost effective way to accelerate Kubernetes transformation and management in the cloud and beyond," said Dan McGuan, Director of Cloud GTM at RGS. "Test Flight’s simplicity, resilience, and enhanced security will enable organizations to fully harness the benefits of Kubernetes while leveraging AWS's scalable and reliable infrastructure."

Rancher Manager-RKE2 Test Flight on AWS further strengthens the partnership between RGS and AWS, allowing customers to optimize their cloud-native strategies and accelerate digital transformation efforts. By combining Rancher's expertise in Kubernetes management and AWS's cloud services, organizations can achieve greater agility, security, scalability, and efficiency.
