USPTO to Celebrate Fifth Anniversary of America Invents Act

Washington - The U.S. Department of Commerce’s United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) today announced that it is co-sponsoring with the American Intellectual Property Law Association an event commemorating the fifth anniversary of the Leahy-Smith America Invents Act (AIA) on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. in the Rayburn House Office Building, in Washington, D.C. The event will feature remarks from USPTO leadership and Congressional representatives on the AIA’s impact as a piece of the sweeping changes to our intellectual property (IP) system.  Additionally, there will be a panel discussion with key leaders from the IP community about the impact of the AIA on businesses and communities of all sizes, and next steps for our IP system to continue tracking the pace and breadth of modern innovation.
