Anyone who disagrees with changes in the actual value of real property can object or file a protest with the Assessor in May. Protests for Business Personal Property accounts should be filed with the Assessor between June 15 and June 30th. The Adams County Assessor is a constitutional officer elected for a four-year term.The primary duty of the assessor is to discover, list, classify and value all real and taxable personal property located in Adams County, pursuant to Article X, Section 3, of the Colorado Constitution and to determine the equitable value of property to ensure that each taxpayer pays only his or her fair share of the taxes
