Ivanka Trump Visits Ivory Coast

Ivanka Trump is welcomed by singing and clapping at an Ivory Coast cocoa farm, Wednesday, April 17. Trump speaks to women farmers as they cut open cocoa pods and sort cocoa beans to dry. This visit comes after the U.S. pledged $2 million to help women in Ivory Coast’s cocoa industry. Speaking at Cayat, a cocoa cooperative in the town of Adzopé, Ivanka Trump, President Donald Trump's daughter and senior White House adviser, said the $2 million, promised by USAID and private chocolate companies, would go toward savings associations, which are a popular way for businesswomen to gain capital in the West African country.
