The Aftermath of Reversing California's Severe Three-Strikes Law

In 1994, California voters passed “Three Strikes,” one of the harshest sentencing laws in U.S. history. In 2012, California Proposition 36 reformed this law, and thousands of prisoners became eligible for reentry overnight. In these first seven minutes of the documentary, The Return, we hear Kaylica Anderson’s testimony: her father is currently incarcerated and she hasn’t seen him in years, but he is now qualified for release.
