The Government Shutdown

For the first time in 17 years, the government is partially shutdown until Congress can reach a budget deal. Although the government has shut down, some important services, like mail delivery and military protection, are still getting done. But hundreds of thousands of federal government employees, including those that conduct science research or run the nation's national parks and monuments, are furloughed. That means they have to stay off the job, their pay withheld, until a deal is reached. Above, watch a video from TIME to get answers to some of your questions about the government shutdown.
