The Department of National Security is the advisory body to the President of the Government in matters of National Security and assumes the functions of Technical Secretariat and permanent working body of the National Security Council. As an advisory body to the President of the Government, it is responsible for providing immediate, optimal and comprehensive support in matters of National Security for proper decision-making, as well as, among other functions: Prepare studies and reports on National Security, without prejudice of the functions that correspond to other bodies. Conduct early warning and monitoring of risks, threats and crisis situations in coordination with the competent bodies and authorities.
