Where the UK's foreign-born population comes from

The latest population figures by the UK's Office for National Statistics provide estimates of the country's foreign-born residents. In 2018 there are thought to be 3.6 million people that were born in the European Union, while a further 0.3 million were born in non-EU European countries. People born in Asian amount to 2.9 million, while the rest of the estimated total of 9.3 million foreign-born residents originate from other areas of the world.
