Environmental Defense Fund

At various points throughout EPA’s Compressor White Paper (“Compressor Paper”), 1 the agency presents component level emissions factors for compressors (i.e., seal emissions), aggregate emissions factors for compressors (i.e., factors for wet seal centrifugal compressors and reciprocating compressors), and national emissions estimates for compressor emissions across segments. Each one of these emissions estimates is important for different reasons. For instance, component level emissions factors provide an indication of the relative importance of different compressor emissions sources like vented seal emissions and leaks. These component level factors also help identify technologies available to mitigate emissions described later in the paper. Aggregate compressor emissions factors and national emissions estimates, conversely, help to characterize the magnitude of emissions from compressors and the emissions reductions achievable by deploying various technologies.

Tacoma Housing Authority

The Tacoma Housing Authority's mission is to provide high quality housing and supportive services to persons and families in need. We try to do this in ways that get two other things done. First, we want people we house to succeed not just as tenants but as "parents, students, wage earners and builders of assets." Second, we want to help Tacoma develop and to help ensure that it has room for households of all types and incomes. We seek to make Tacoma "safe, vibrant, prosperous, attractive and just." Our status as a Moving to Work (MTW) housing authority and a public development authority help us do this. We do this work in four main ways.

UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT WOMEN, PEACE, AND SECURITY CONGRESSIONAL REPORT

whitePaper | July 18, 2022

The world is more peaceful, safe, and prosperous when the human rights of women are respected and they can fully participate in economic, social, and political life. But we know the enduring challenges of fulfilling that promise. A defining competition between democracies and autocracies. The COVID-19 pandemic. The climate crisis. Mass migration and displacement. The denial of education and sexual violence against women and girls across the world. No matter what global crisis unfolds—women and girls are disproportionately impacted, and that makes the world less stable.

Reforming US Trade Policy for Shared Prosperity and the Planet

whitePaper | November 15, 2019

Trade was not such a controversial topic not so long ago. For most of the post-war era trade worked well for the US and for many other countries. A bipartisan consensus supported continuing trade liberalization as long as it was accompanied by full employment. However trade always had winners and losers as economies adjust to different costs of production among trading partners and over the last few decades the number of US workers losing from trade mounted and the losses spread across hard hit communities. For these and other reasons, trade has become so controversial that it is now a key pivot point in politics and elections in the US.

Open Public Services White Paper

whitePaper | July 1, 2022

We believe that more open public services can benefit everybody in the UK and that finding ways to deliver better services for less money is a challenge that is common to all four nations of the UK. The scope of this paper is UK wide, but in devolved areas of policy it is for the devolved administrations to determine their own approach to public service reform. The three devolution settlements in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are all different although, in general, services such as health, education and those provided by local government are under devolved control. If you live or work in any of the devolved territories and are in any doubt as to which of these reforms would apply there, the relevant territorial office will be able to advise you. We are committed to working in partnership with the devolved administrations to share good practice and to explore whether our approach would suit their particular circumstances and need.
