Fiscal Year 2020 President’s Budget

March 26, 2019

The Commission is requesting a total of $315.0 million and 707 FTE for FY 2020. This budget consists of two separate requests: the Commission’s operational budget of $284.0 million, and a onetime request of $31.0 million to support the relocation of the Commission’s three regional offices, each with expiring leases. The CFTC’s request for its operational budget is consistent with the FY 2019 President’s Budget Request, inflating it by less than one percent (1%). Commission priorities in this budget remain focused on increasing resources to expand economic analysis, increase examiners, strengthen cybersecurity, fully fund LabCFTC, and enhance IT capability to improve market oversight.

Creating More Responsive Government Organizations

whitePaper | April 13, 2020

South Dakota needed to move away from manual processes where employees submitted paper forms to HR personnel, who then re-entered the information into a database. State leaders wanted to transition to self-service tools that let employees do things like change their direct deposit information, update their tax withholding and provide a new address — all in just a few clicks.

The Department of Defense (DoD) annual report to Congress on military and security developments involving the People’s Republic of China (PRC) provides a baseline assessment of the Department’s pacing challenge. The PRC has long viewed the United States as a competitor and has characterized its view of strategic competition in terms of a rivalry among powerful nation states, as well as a clash of opposing systems. As expressed in the Interim National Security Strategic Guidance, the PRC is the only competitor capable of combining its economic, diplomatic, military, and technological power to mount a sustained challenge to a stable and open international system. The PRC is increasingly clear in its ambitions and intentions.

WHITE HOUSE ACTION PLAN ON GLOBAL WATER SECURITY

whitePaper | June 1, 2022

The Biden-Harris Administration recognizes the critical role of sustainable water systems and the transformational power that water access has in the life of each person on earth. From its most basic role as the source of life to its advanced role in powering global economies, water matters. Still, its ubiquity in everyday life risks leading us to take it for granted — while global trends in population growth, urbanization, environmental degradation, deforestation, and climate change pose growing challenges to water security around the world. Here at home, water crises are becoming more frequent and intense. Historic droughts threaten our supply of water, and failing infrastructure and chronic underinvestment deprive our most vulnerable communities of safe drinking water. Lack of sanitation threatens public health, individual safety and dignity, equity, and the protection of freshwater resources; extreme weather events intensify these risks where improved sanitation is unavailable. As the source of both life and livelihoods, water security is central to human and national security.
